Today, most cemeteries require the use of an outer burial container, or Burial Vault, for all earth interments. Modern
burial vaults are designed to withstand the pressure associated with an earth burial and provide a barrier to the
natural elements for the casket or urn. Vaults give the cemetery a stable foundation that helps eliminate the problems
associated with ground settling over time.
Chapel Hill requires all vaults to be constructed of steel reinforced concrete and have a two-piece, top-seal design.

Remember....Only a Vault purchase directly through the Chapel Hill office helps support the long-term care of the cemetery.
Vaults can be pre-selected and pre-paid through Chapel Hill. All contracts are guaranteed and all funding is audited annually by
the State of Illinois. Chapel Hill offers 36 months to pay with no finance charges on all cemetery pre-arrangements.
